Well right now the bridge seems to be a bit dangerous and what's more we will have Balkan flexipasses which will be bought from all over Bulgaria not our whole group are from Ruse. And I doubt if at Giurgiu they will speak English.
I've written to CFR about that and they told me that from official BDZ point of sale they could send a request about reservation of the seats we want but BDZ are too dumb and refuse to do that U think on 1-st May the couchette coach will be full ? Is it a working day 3-rd MAY in Romania ? Yes it's before Easter but I thought the passanger trafiic will be bigger on direction to Brasov, Bucuresti. Well, I'm gonna try again at Ruse cause they tried in Sofia to make them send a request

As far as I know you may need to buy the ticket/reservation 24 hours before train's departure date. Also , on the official website you may find a phone number where you can make a reservation by phone, but be aware that there's an extra charge.

2 and 3 of May are declared non-working days in the public system. We all have to work 2 saturdays or extra hours to compensate for this... in advance.

From what I've heard, the bridge has a big... hole. But a bike is quite small, I believe you can avoid the hole. It is true that there are small chances that you can buy the tickets if you speak in other language than Romanian (but in Ruse you can buy almost anything if you speak Romanian). But I do not know if you can buy tickets for your friends without presenting their Balkan Pass or other ticket/pass.
