De ce pe bilete mai este scris rangul RE care de la 1 august nu mai exista? Asa se intampla pe relatia Botosani-Veresti.

I want to ask about the public transport in Tirgu Mures. I found this site http://www.siletina.ro/ but its functionality is simple and it doesnt give any information such as map of the stations or timetable for every single stop. I need directions to this resturant : http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g298477-d2077466-Reviews-La_Teo_Restaurant-Tirgu_Mures_Mures_County_Central_Romania_Transylvania.html

From the timetable of buses given stop by stop it looks like a bus from Piata Trendafilor to Piata Teatului (which is the closest stop on direct bus from the train station to the restaurant) it goes through the whole town in totally different directions before reaching Piata Teatrului. I need fast transportation since I wont have much time in Tirgu Mures till the train back. Same on the other direction bus passes the whole town before reaching the train station. It looks like walking the 3 km distance will be faster in my case

I also want to ask about Bucuresti Metrorex and RATB combined tickets. I guess it will be possible to buy such (for 60 minutes I need) from the subway stations (since I will arrive in Bucuresti next to a subway station) but in Metrorex site theres no information about possible issuing or fares for those passes (they didnt reply me on my mail where I asked them about that) So my question is whether I can buy this pass from the subway stations.

Hope my questions are clear. Thank you all for your upcoming responses. I tend to ask you frequently some questions hope it's not annoying.

Care e distanța minimă permisă între 2 trenuri, fie ele și locomotive izolate?
Am prins ceva neobișnuit la Galați, unde, la 10 metri după 2 DA-uri izolate de cale largă, venea un LDH tot de cale largă. Se îndreptau spre triajul de marfă.

You can't possibly rely on the timetable given by Siletina. It is either because they don't introduce enough buses to cope with the traffic or passenger needs, either one bus breaks down somewhere in the city and they won't / can't (or both) offer a replacement to catch up with the remaining fares, or the buses simply arrives earlier in stations if the drivers hit the pedal and drive normally (anormally means when a bus is driven at 30 km/h for no obvious reasons and the road is clear).

There's a problem if you want to reach La Teo's restaurant, since the whole street (Piata Bernandy Gyorgy) is closed until 14th of September due to road work, and all bus routes that usually stopped right after La Teo have been moved on alternate routes that are rather far from your intended destination. If you still want to serve there,  it is advisable to take route 5 or 18 from the train station to Piata Trandafirilor and walk on foot 10 minutes towards La Teo. There shall be a sidewalk open for pedestrians on the left side where the fortress sits. That distance can be covered entirely on foot in circa 25-30 minutes (depending what's your rhythm in walking). These tickets are not available anymore (apparently, RATB took the money and "forgot" to pay Metrorex).
For the subway you need a magnetic card, that is available at all stations, all the day.
Prices:
- 2 fares: 5 lei
- 10 fares: 20 lei
- one day pass: 8 lei (by day they mean calendar day, not 24 h. So, if you buy this pass at 21:30, it will only be valid 1,5 hours, because the traffic stops at about 23).
- one week pass: 25 lei
- month pass: 70 lei
Passes require a 15 min brake between usage at the same station (so 2 people can't use the same pass).
Some stations are also equipped with magnetic cards machines, that accept cash (but DO NOT give change!) and cards. Cards issued by the machines expires after 6 months. Cards bought from ticket offices may have a shorter life (they are valid 6 months from issuing, but they are issued by the magnetic card factory and some may already be one or 2 months old).

For the surface transport, the prices are:
- 1 fare (city): 1,3 lei
- 1 fare for extra-urban lines (4xx): 1,5 lei
- 1 expres fare (lines 780, 783): 3,5 lei
- daily pass (for a calendar day, only city): 8 lei
- 7 day pass (only city, requires an ID): 17 lei
- 15 day pass (only city, requires an ID): 25 lei
- monthly pass (only city, requires an ID): 50 lei
Single fares are available as "electronic walet" (you charge some money and the ticket validator will charge the amount depending the line you use).

Also, you need a card to charge the fares/pass:
- ACTIV card: rechargable card, valid for 5 years (but after 5 years it will be extended...mine is from 2006). It can hold any type of pass or "electronic walet". A nominal card costs 4,6 lei and a not-nominal card costs 3,6 lei. Nominal passes can only be charged on a nominal card and if you're buying a 7 day or more pass for the first time, you will get the card for free
- MULTIPLU card: not rechargable, can hold from 2 to 10 fares OF THE SAME TYPE (so you can't put 2 city fares + 2 express fares on the same card) or a one day pass for the city. It costs 1,6 lei.

Payment: at subway, the ticket machines accept cards (VISA/Master Card) and also some ticket offices. At RATB, some ticket offices accept cards (see this list).

You probably know that BGN is accepted by some banks (Raiffeisen, BCR) and exchange offices (however, is hard to buy BGN from Bucharest).

In RATB's means of transport, a validation is only good untill the end of the line. However, some lines don't have a "proper" end of line, so a stop is considered end of line and, from that stop, you need to pay again.

Locomotivele se îndreptau spre triajul de marfă (aprox 1,5 km de stația Galați), nu erau la manevră.

Thank you for the detail explanation, Dr2005. I want to use transport from Piata Unirii to the train station since I will have plenty of time until the train I will travel with so I want some change using ground transport since I've all the time travelled only via subway till now.

Is the only way for validating tickets for public transport via those magnetic cards and charging them? There are no single paper ticket options?
Currently my plan is taking the trolley 85 from Universitate to the train station. Is there RATB office at trolley 85 stop (direction Gara de Nord.  My plan at first was to take subway to Universitate then 85 to VASILE PARVAN then tram 44 to Gara de Nord so I thought the 1 hour combined ticket would be a good option but sadly I see it's not in this case. I asked via mail about payment by SMS (since its mentioned on their site) but they told me its not available either right now. Currency is not a problem I will have amount of LEI with me.

Line 44 has an interval of about 30 min between the trams... It is operated with Tatra T4R.

The SMS payment is no longer available. When it was, only daily passes could be bought and only from Romanian networks, not roaming.

Din câte știu eu stațiile sunt separate și semnalele de manevră existente sunt pentru rebrusări.

Cele două linii de peste strada Macului sunt linia electrificată, respectiv linia largă care se desprind de linia care duce spre gara de călători la 3-400 de metri după tunelul Filești. Locomotivele surprinse ieșeau din gara Galați și plecau spre stația de marfă.

Stie cineva daca R4110 Cluj Napoca - Sighetul Marmatiei circula duminica pe toata distanta? In mersul tiparit apare ca e limitat la Dej Calatori in zilele de duminica si SL, iar pe cfrcalatori apare ca circula pe toata distanta! Nu de alta, dar mi-am mai luat odata teapa cu cfrcalatori, de a trebuit sa-mi petrec noaptea intr-o gara prafuita, ca pe site aparea un tren ca circula si pana la urma nu a mai circulat...
