The doubledeckcars M6 in your pictures are built in Brugge at the Bombardier plant, which could be closed soon, because Bombardier is moving its activity out of Belgium due to the high costs of production. Further, the trains in your pictures are very empty, my opinion is that Belgium has a problem with full and empty trains. During rush hours, the whole country is traveling from and towards Brussel, and besides that there is less than 10% occupation in the trains. A system with lower prices during the rest of the day could maybe work in their advantage to spread the peak to Brussels.

Did you know that travelling in the weekends is 50% discount, Alex? When you buy a weekend return ticket, you pay the price of a one way ticket in Belgium.

Asa e. 6 sau 8 euro, nu mai stiu exact. Intr-adevar DeLijn este compania de transport public care se ocupa de toata regiunea, insa am mers mult pe jos, nu prea am avut nevoie de transport public. Oricum, am ramas foarte placut surprins de tot ce am vazut, nu ma asteptam ca Belgia sa fie asa faina. Cel putin astea 3 orase ... Cred ca si Anvers sau Liege sunt la fel, urmeaza sa le vizitez in viitorul apropiat.

Yes, I know about the weekend ticket, but I was there on Monday-Wednesday and I needed just the single ticket: OOstende-Brugge and Brugge-Ghent.
Yes, I manage to travel with De Kusttram, all the 67 km. I will post some pictures also. I really recommend you to go because for sure you will not regret it.
Those trains from my pictures were empty because they had like 8-11 wagons, so high capacity. A lot of people are using the trains to go to work in Belgium and my friend told me that they have kind of legislation that obliges employers to pay the tickets to employees which are not living in the city where they have their headquarters.

Pfff the Belgium signalling system is much more complicated as the one at their northern neighbours, Netherlands. After WorldWar 2, The Netherlands introduced a simplified version of the German system, funded partially with Marshall-plan money.
