Nice! Desiro's in Belgium are orriginally for the L(ocal) trains and the GEN Netwerk the Belgium RER (copied from Paris) , But NMBS put them on all their trains, Local, Interregional and IC.
Did you also have a ride in a I11? Between Gent and Brussels and Leuven - Liege Guillemins they travel 200km/h. They are my favorite Belgium coaches and come as far as Switserland in the EuroCity Brussel- Luxembourg- Strasbourg- Basel line.
The station of Gent St Pieters is in modernisation, but at a very low speed, I couldnt see difference between two years of building when I was there. The station of Antwerp is one of the most beautiful of Europe.
Did you like Brugge? And the Dutch language?

I didn't had the chance to have a ride in I11! I've heard about it in my last day in Belgium and it was too late. But I will come back next year and I think I'll take it between Gent and Brussels.
I didn't see any workers in Gent St-Pieters or any construction site.

The station of Antwerp is speechless. Not only that is one of the most beautiful, but it's very easy to find anything in it. The signs and the marks are very good and very well placed. I think that the guy who overviewed their placing worked at an airport before. Only there I've seen such a best use of signs and marks.
I didn't like Brugge, I LOVED it. I''ll return next year during the summer for another visit. Very, very beautiful city and not at expensive as I would've thought.
Regarding the Dutch language, what I loved about it is that everyone spoke English too. Since the languages are very similar, I understood words and simple sentences, but anything longer than that didn't make any sense to me
In the French part of Belgium even though they understood my English they replied to me in French :shock:

Se poate sa fie cum spui tu, eu am scris despre scandalul Desiro din ce am auzit de la un belgian.


Legat de interiorul Desiro, stiu ce spui, dar crede-ma ca nu le trebuie confort pentru distantele lor. Din Charleroi (care e in sud) si pana la Antwerp (care e in nord) am facut 1:48. Si in tot vagonul am fost doar eu care a mers de la un capat la altul. Restul erau navetisti.

Poate trenurile care merg de la Est la Vest sa aiba nevoie de mai mult confort, dar nici acolo nu cred ca fac mai mult de 4 ore.

Eu zic ca este de ajuns pentru ce au ei nevoie.

Da probabil e folosit pentru trenuri de rang inferior pentru trenurile IC au trenuri cu garnituri clasice din vagoane

Nu, e folosit si pentru IC.

Eu am mers si la dus si la intors cu el si trenurile erau IC.

Sa stii ca foarte multi navetisti circula cu IC. La ei abonamentul se face pe Plecare-Destinatie, nu pe rangul trenului.

Charleroi Sud



Trafic mare de calatori,are 12 peroane.In dreapta este statia de autobuz cu 10 peroane si statia de tramvai care nu stiu de ce ii spun metro in Charleroi.
Foarte multa lume face naveta in Belgia,ca fapt divers dupa gara unde este iesirea de pe autostrada,este o parcare de vreo 800-1000 de locuri,plina la ora 7 si goala la ora 18 sau in week-end.

Desiro in Boondaal/Boodael, near Brussels. Brussels is a 2 language city, Dutch and French. But it seems to me that the Dutch language is in oppression; in some shops they don't understand my Dutch and only answered in French.


Groenendaal, here the GEN network around Brussels has to be established, but the works are going extremely slowly. There are new little trees growing in the new tracks (which have to be completed), because there aren't works for some 5 years.






I was here 8 years ago, the situation hasn't change sindce then.

This is the train I took. De Panne is a village near the French border at the French city of Dunkerque at the North sea.
Dunkerque means Duinkerke in Dutch (almost the same). In the history, that little part of France had the Dutch language.

After this picture, there was a young man, completely mad at me. He thought that I was making pictures of him and he was able to beat me. He was very scared to me, because he seems to be high on some kind of drugs or something.
Before he came to me, he was kicking with his feet to the train and demolished a waste bin. He was very agressive because a conductor refused to let him go on board on the train earlier. It was the first time in my live I felt a little unsecure to make pictures and stopped. pfff...

I remember when I visited Bruxelles that Dutch was only spoken in northern parts, while in the rest of the city there were even street names and places with the French naming alone, which as far as I know is not legal in a bilingual country. My parents can speak French, so for them it proved an advantage. There seemed to be some political and social hostility between the two, even though I believe its more or less made up by the Media, just like the hostility between us and the Hungarian population, which exists only on media and political environments...

Va rog frumos sa observati parcarea de biciclete . Tot orasul e brazdat de piste de biciclete. De la mic la mare, de la vanzator la manager, toti merg cu bicicleta. Ma rog ... la 3 euro cat costa o calatorie cu transportul in comun ... Cred si eu. haha
