(St Pancras railway station, also known as London St Pancras and since 2007[8] as St Pancras International,[9][10] is a railway station terminus known for its Victorian architecture. The Grade I listed building stands on Euston Road in St Pancras, London Borough of Camden, between the British Library, King's Cross station and the Regent's Canal. It was opened in 1868 by the Midland Railway as the southern terminus of its main line, which connected London with the East Midlands and Yorkshire. When it opened, the arched Barlow train shed was the largest single-span roof in the world. ....... The station was designed by William Henry Barlow.[33] The approaching line to the station crossed the Regent's Canal at height allowing the line reasonable gradients; this resulted in the level of the line at St Pancras to be 12 to 17 ft (3.7 to 5.2 m) above the ground level. Initial plans were for a two or three span roof with the void between station and ground level filled with spoil from tunnelling on the St Pancras branch. | O frumoasa gara din Spania - Toledo (The Toledo railway station (IATA: XTJ) is a railway station in Toledo, Spain, which was designed by architect Narciso Clavería y de Palacios in the Neo-Mudéjar style.[1]
The railway reached Toledo in 1858. The present station opened in 1919 or 1920, replacing the original station which was of functional design. The central section is flanked by two side naves, one of which is adjacent to the clock tower, which imitates the style of Toledo church towers.
The station has been declared a Property of Cultural Interest and classified as a monument. It was restored in the twenty-first century in connection with the inauguration of a high-speed service to Madrid in 2005.)

| Amsterdam CentraalAmsterdam Centraal build on an island. Metro entrance. Old CAF metro, from 1977. New Alstom Metropolis. Exit of the metrostation. Old hall inside the trainstation. Departures. Right the trains to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, 7 per hour. Entrance to the main busstation. The busstation isn´t completely finished yet. They are building it sinds 2007... Slow proces. Citaro Citybus to the northern part of Amsterdam. This part of the city has only busses at this moment. A new metroline is under construction to connect the northern part with the city. (building proces is very slow, building for more then 10 years now... :shock: ) The red letters on the roof are "Amsterdam" but you have to walk a few hundred meters away before you can read it properly From the air its like this: An EBS bus to Hoorn, my hometown. Unline Romania is it forbidden to begin a bus company in Netherlands and carry pessengers where ever you like. Every region has its own consession; the region desides which company may run ALL the busses in that part of the country. The region also decides on which routes the busses must drive, to prevent unfairfull concurence. In general, there is no bus on the same route as a train. As I wrote before, Amsterdam Centraal is a station on an Island. Sindce there are no bridges to the northern part of the town, there are a large amount of ferries, running 24 hours a day (between 06.00h and 23.00h every 3 minutes or something) for pedestrians and cyclists. Those ferries are free of charge and always full... Brand new Traxx locomotive. They are operating on the Highspeedline to Rotterdam and Brussels sinds some weeks. But they can only reach 160km/h (and the coaches also) instead of 300, the design speed of the line. Also heavy cargo trains in Amsterdam Centraal. They run from the harbour in Amsterdam to industrial sites in Germany with coals. (lot of noise in the station...) Thalys from Paris and Bruxelles, the only train with 300km/h in Netherlands. International IC Amsterdam- Berlin Ostbahnhof. The station in a scheme. More detailled view. every track is devided into two parts, A and B section with a switch between them. There are some tracks like 3, 6, 9 and 12 were you can pass the other trains which are boarding at a platform. It's hard to explain in English, but it's like: when every platform has a train, every train can depart in every direction without being blocked by another train. Then you get something like this: Red= a train. Greenline is the safe drive way. |
